About Me
Hello! I’m Dr. Jeannemarie Leone, a licensed clinical psychologist in California (PSY31763), certified perinatal mental health professional (PMH-C), and birth & postpartum doula. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Whether you’re looking to find support for yourself, your child, or a loved one I hope the information provided on this website will be helpful in your search. Finding a therapist who is a good fit for you and your needs can be challenging! I get it!
I support children and adults in managing overwhelming thoughts and feelings, past traumas, difficult parent-child relationships, difficult births, etc. on their healing journeys. I help individuals and families figure out factors that may be getting in the way and provide feedback about ideas and interventions they can utilize to support emotional well-being. As a certified perinatal mental health professional and doula I have specialized training in the needs and experiences surrounding pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed and influenced by psychodynamic, attachment, family systems, and cognitive-behavioral interventions. ‘Relational’ means that having healthy, supportive relationships with others are necessary for emotional well-being. This is the cornerstone of my work with clients.
I earned my doctorate in clinical psychology in 2016 from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Francisco. I completed my predoctoral internship at Vista Del Mar Child & Family Services Outpatient Clinic in Los Angeles and worked there as a postdoctoral staff member for three years treating young children, adolescents, and families. I am a provider of Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), a model for children aged 0-5 who have experienced at least one traumatic event and/or are experiencing mental health, attachment, and/or behavioral problems. Outside of private practice, I continue to work in outpatient community mental health providing training and supervision to students working towards their masters or doctoral degrees in psychology.
